What is low vision?
Low vision is any visual impairment that cannot be corrected by glasses, surgery, or medicine that interferes with your daily activities.
Low vision may be caused by:
Glaucoma
Macular Degeneration
Cataracts
Diabetic Retinopathy
Stroke
Brain Injury
And many other causes
Any of these conditions can be scary and may leave you feeling hopeless.
But there is help!
We can assist you in the following ways:
* teaching to utilize your remaining vision to complete activities
* training in the use of adaptive equipment
* modifying the activity so it can be performed with reduced vision
* adapting the home to enhance safety and task performance
* referring to community resources
